Answer: There have been a few very unfortunate accidents over the years in the sportfishing fleet, in reality the San Diego fleet does an incredible job at keeping passengers and vessels out of harms way and the service record over the years speaks volumes for the operations and operators of these vessels. The very few accidents that have occurred over the years are definitely the exception and not the rule, we are proud of the safety record of our fleet over the years.

NOTE: Frank Kiessig ran the first fishing barge off the San Diego coast in 1925 and the name of the barge was the "Ike Walten."
