To Our Existing and Potential Sponsors:
To our existing sponsors: Thank you for your early faith in us. We
promise to work as hard as we can to justify your confidence in us and insure
that your support will be rewarded.
To our potential sponsors: Thank you for considering us. We sincerely
believe that our sponsors are our partners. Your customers are potentially our
listeners, just as our listeners are potentially your customers.
We are not new to this business or the outdoors industry. We have over 100 years
of combined background in providing direct services to anglers and hunters or
communicating their experiences.
We believe that our experience and reputations create for our listeners a degree
of confidence and credibility that is unparalleled.
Speaking of our listeners, we believe they are partners as well, and critical to
our success as well as your own. Accordingly, we feel a genuine responsibility
to provide them with information that is accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date.
We invite you to join us as an advertising partner. As you can see from the
attached advertising rate sheet, there are distinct benefits to those who become
charter sponsors within our first six months of operation. This benefit can be
taken as a discount, or as a donation which we will return to the fishing
related charity of your choice, and in your name. Should you choose the latter,
we recommend consideration of the Friends of Rollo, the Chollas Lake Kids
Fishing Program or the AIM Foundation (for children with cancer) among others.
That choice is yours, as is the determination of how and where to best spend
your advertising dollars. We won’t hound you, play games or turn our backs on
you when you choose others. We respect that you know your business better than
anyone, and will make the decision that is right for you.
It’s up to us to make choosing the All Outdoors Radio Network an easy
decision for you.
How and Why We Chose KCBQ 1170 AM
It has been several years since we first discussed the possibility of combining
our efforts to create a radio show dedicated to fishing primarily, but offering
coverage of other outdoor activities as well. The subject first came up
following the death of Kevin Mineo, which ended the five year run of The Fishing
Line on KFMB 760, with Captain John Grabowski as Kevin’s co-host.
Kevin had encouraged us to bring the show back immediately, but for us the time
simply was not right. It is only within the last year or so that our schedules,
resources and energies combined to make this the right time.
The greatest hurdle we faced was finding a station with an established Talk
Radio format, desirable time slot and a suitable signal. Several months of
investigation and a few meetings with radio executives produced both
encouragement and leads, but no results that met our three criteria.
It was only after deciding to put our plans on hold for a while longer that a
coincidental meeting resulted in KCBQ 1170 and the All Outdoors Radio Network
landing in each others laps.
In addition to the station meeting our criteria of a compatible format,
preferred time slot and strong signal, we like the people we are working with at
KCBQ and they seem happy to have added us to their lineup.
KCBQ 1170 AM is a Salem Communications Corporation station.
